The moon refused to hide our sins just as the sun denied us our blessing.
Perhaps it shined brightly but all was lost in the twilight of the moment.
Once we had been kings but hubris had stolen our crowns.
oh my yes – wonderful imagery
I love this line. “The moon refused to hide our sins just as the sun denied us our blessing.” It can set us up for a lot of different scenarios.
I have been playing around with ideas for it.
I agree with Jen- that first line is amazing!
Very well done!
Appreciate it. Hope you are doing well.
Fantastic first line!
Beautiful! You took this places I could never have imagined. Thanks for sharing it!
Thanks, this one was a lot of fun.
I love how open-ended this is. It’s probably not what you intended, but in light of your header, I read this as a reflection on the rise and fall of the Egyptian Empire. With the references to the sun and kings, it fits nicely. 🙂
I hadn’t thought about that, but I can see it. Gives me a few ideas, thanks!
This is fabulous! Love the imagery and I love that last line. 🙂
Ooooo. I like that last line mucho.
